Uses and Advantages of Double Cone Blender

In the pharmaceutical industry, different components are routinely combined and blended. Many other sectors, such as the food, cosmetics, detergent, chemical, and fertilizer manufacturing industries, operate in a similar manner to this one. The mixing process may be carried out with the help of a device known as a double cone blender . Because each unit includes the same quantity of materials, the mixing of the different components may help in the formation of uniform bulk mixes. When using a double cone blender, the most significant advantage is that it allows for the development of a homogeneous granule and dry powder combination. Because of their high efficiency, these machines have become vital in the pharmaceutical industry, as well as a number of other sectors.   When it comes to the chemical business, the double cone blender is ideal for mixing chemicals, fertilizers, detergents, and a variety of other components. These machines are particularly highly valued in the pharmace...

What are Extruders?

The extruder is widely used for making pellets of different sizes starting from a minimum of 400 microns to a maximum of 2000 microns. Extruder gives mild compaction and is ideal for most pharmaceutical formulations related to palletization. The function of a spheronizer  is to convert extrudes into spheroids. Spheronization is the necessary second step of granulation by extrusion – spheronization process where pharmaceutical products are made into small spheres or spheroids Activate the machine and load the pre-formulated wet mass into the feed funne l ( Hopper). The material is forced through the extrusion chamber to cone mesh by axial force of Counter-rotating screws. Conical pressing roller forces the material through the perforations of Single cone mesh and the extrude formed.   Types of Extruder 1.  Single Screw Extruder The single   screw extruder  machine  comprises a single spinning screw within the barrel that is further divided into three zones: ...

Hot Melt Extrusion

Hot melt extrusion, a common technique in the plastics sector, is now extensively used in the pharmaceutical business as a pelletizing machine . It  has a significant role in the creation of modern medication formulations. The Hot Melt Extrusion Principle is as follows: It is necessary to process the drug or polymeric materials constantly above their glass transition temperature and pressure in a regulated way in order to produce molecular-level mixing of thermoplastic binders and/or polymers and active chemicals (drugs). Hot Melt Extruder Working Process : During the process of mixing a compound with one or more excipients such as diluents, plasticizers, or polymers, the substance melts because of the heat and pressure applied to it. Furthermore, forcing it through an orifice in a continuous process aids in the production of uniformly shaped and dense products for use in industrial applications. The Hot Melt Extruder  is optimized via the use of an electronic control uni...

Fluid Bed Dryers

Fluid bed dryers, as the name implies, are used to dry products such as granules, tablets, powders, fertilizers, and polymers. They may also be used to dry a variety of other materials. In order to function, fluid bed dryer  operates on the concept of fluidization, which is the conversion of material from a static solid-like state to a dynamic fluid-like one. In this procedure, hot gas or air is delivered into the space containing the material via a perforated distribution plate. This heated gas flows through the gaps between solid particles, causing them to expand and contract. In proportion to the rise in gas or air velocity, the upward forces exerted on the particles increase, forcing them to equalize with the gravitational forces exerted below them. This results in a state of fluidization, in which the particles are suspended in what seems to be a boiling bed of liquid, creating the appearance of a bubble. What was previously a solid object may now move like water. Each pa...
