Process And Different Techniques of Tablet Coater, R&D Coater and Coating Tablet Machine

 Tablet Coater :

Tablet covering is a significant cycle step in tablet creation. The drug business needs arrangements that meet shading and taste-covering prerequisites.

Tablet covering is the process in which a covering substance is put into the tablet's outer layer in order to get the appropriate dosage structure over the uncoated tablets. The advantages of cover are listed below.

1. Improving the medication's flavor, aroma, and color

2. Improving product stability

3. Modifying release properties

4. Enhancing the patient's ability to gulp with more ease

5. To protect against the gastrointestinal climate

6. To improve the mechanical resistance of the dosage form

There are three principal processes for tablet covering: glossing coating, film coating, and enteric coating.

Some of the different coating techniques -

A coating is a covering that is applied to the surface of an object, sometimes referred to as the substrate.

The coating may be applied for functional, decorative, or a mix of the two functions.

Different methods of coating -

1. Dip coating.

2. Brushing.

3. Roll coating.

4. Spraying.

5. Spin coating.

6. Flow coating.

R & D Coater :

The R&D tablet covering machine resembles an exquisitely made box from the exterior, with the covering skillet supported at an angle of 35° to 45°. The container conceals the entire drive mechanism, leaving only the center point, which supports the covering dish and is extended outward to increase vertical revolving force.

R&D tablet coating equipment is needed whether you're developing a new medication, a dosage form, an alternative coating material, or an updated version of an existing treatment. This equipment is designed and produced to speed up and simplify your research and development procedures.

Tablet Coater R&D Model uses for sugar/film coating onto tablets. all contact parts are constructed from stainless steel-approved materials.

Equipment used for doing research and creating new or improved procedures, products, or processes is referred to as research and development (R&D) equipment, and it is managed by staff who have received technical training under the direction of a research director.

Coating Tablet Machine :

A tablet coating machine is equipment that coats the external surface of a tablet using a thin film of coating material.

Pharmaceutical tablets may be coated with either a polymer film coating or a sugar coating, which are the two main forms of coating available.

Tablets are coated with a thin layer of film using tablet coating machines. The main purposes of the film :

1. Hide the drug's appearance, flavour, and odour.

2. Protect the drug from physical or chemical harm.

3. Control the drug's release.

4. Prevent the drug's disintegration when it comes into contact with gastric juices.

5. Make the tablet look better by creating a more attractive product.

6. It contains medications or other substances in the coating to avoid any chemical incompatibility.

The basic operation of tablet coating machines is to spray a solution containing the coating materials onto a bed of tablets that may move vertically or horizontally. The solvent is evaporating with the aid of hot air flowing simultaneously. By moving the bed, the coating is evenly dispersed throughout the tablets.

Different types of Tablet Coating Machines -

There are 3 types of tablet coating machines

Standard coating pan:

The conventional coating pan has an electric motor that horizontally spins the metal pan's axis. The movement of this pan causes a batch of tablets to fall. The standard pan system, once more, has an air supply at the intake. Warm air is provided through this input port.

Fluidized bed or Air suspension system:

A fluidized bed coater's chamber is often shaped like a vertical cylinder. The pellets are fluidized by being moved upward by a column of air rising from the cylinder's center at the bottom. The air current lifts the tablets in the middle, which fall outward and downward to the chamber wall before returning to the air stream from the foot of the column. The coating solution is applied using spray nozzles at the bottom and top of the chamber.

Perforated pan or Drum:

In a perforated coating pan, which is spun on its horizontal axis inside of a housing, a perforated pan or drum is utilized. The coating solution is applied to the surface of the rotating bed of tablets using spraying nozzles that are positioned inside the drum.
