Principle:

A fluid bed drier is so called because it dries particle particles or wet granules by forcing hot air (gas) or ambient air to rise through the bottom of a vessel with perforations. All of the powder or granules are completely dried out by the hot air that surrounds them.

 

Working:

The dryer's base can be removed to reveal a removable container for placing the object to be dried. The air comes up through a prefilter and is warmed by in-wall elements. It's fine to run a fan at the same time. As the airspeed increases, the bed expands, and further expansion causes fluidization or the turbulent movement of particles.

The granules/particles are still dispersed across the air. When the force of gravity is equivalent to the frictional drag on the granules or particles, a later type of pressure is obtained. Particles enter a fluidized condition, where they rise in the air current due to the high gas velocity.
